Because of the bountiful data that the GIS Department warehouses and maintains it is logical to assume that there would be special needs for custom subsets of data. The fee for this type of service is $60/hour with a minimum fee of $30 because it requires special focus and attention from an individual or group of individuals.
Here are examples of Analysis and Queries that we have performed in the past:

Mapping of customer database with a density analysis. The customer provided a spreadsheet of addresses and we provided a map with all the customer locations along with density shading to indicate hotspots. See the example map on the left by clicking on the image.

Soil map of specific property. Agricultural land is assessed using CSR (Corn Suitability Rating) Values. A single parcel of land can have multiple types of CSR’s. We can create a map of the parcel and provide a breakdown of the acreages for each CSR value. See the example map on the right by clicking on the image.

Generic Site Selection Services. Businesses locate in certain areas for certain reasons. With the data we have in-house, the high end software and our expertise it is possible to highlight areas of the county that meet certain criteria (i.e. proximity to water & roads, slope of land, zoning, demographics, etc.). Database Queries. Some users are analytical and require a spreadsheet or database table as output. We can export data using specified criteria provided by the user. For example a user once asked for all property owners/addresses that were agricultural and greater than 20 acres.
Mailing labels can be created at a fee of $0.10/label. There is no labor charge. Similar to the Database Query above, we can output addresses on mailing labels using a custom query. So you know our GIS website can produce labels for you as well for free, but they do not involve custom queries. Try the site first then give us a call if it’s not sufficient.
The Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce and WIDA have access to a new demographic reporting tool. It creates reports and maps that summarize by drive times or distances from any location. The reports include many demographic categories: population, education, income, spending, race, gender, age, housing, etc…for the current year (not 2000)!
