Development Timeline

The Pottawattamie County Disaster Animal Response Team (PCDART) is a new team being developed to respond to local disaster situations in Pottawattamie County. The team’s success and operational capacity will depend on the number of skilled and qualified volunteers who apply for the team. The following Development Timeline has been created to give applicants an idea of how the development process will proceed. This timeline may be moved forward or delayed at the discretion of the Animal Control Supervisor or the Board of Supervisors at any time.

October 2010

  • Begin the development of the PCDART policies and procedures.
  • Identify organizational leadership.
  • Accept applications for the PCDART membership.

December 2010

  • Review applications and begin interviews.

January 2011

  • Begin accepting PCDART members.
  • Develop meeting, organizational, and training schedules.

July 2011

  • PCDART is fully operational and ready to deploy to local disasters.
