Project Updates

Update : April 7, 2017

Simon’s Run Bridge, Old Lincoln Highway
The Simon’s Run Bridge on Old Lincoln Highway passed a significant milestone on April 3 when the deck was poured.  By constructing the bridge off alignment nearly 2 months of detour was avoided.  Unfortunately the remaining work will require the road to be closed on April 10.  After closure MidAmerican will temporary relocate power poles.  After the power poles have been moved grading will commence on the 2,000 foot project.  We estimate the project to be completed in mid-June; the project could reopen to traffic sooner if we have cooperative weather.

G30 Resurfacing, L66 to the Nishnabotna River Bridge
Work has commenced on G30 to add a 2” overlay on this section of road.  Initial work will be to grind off the bumps, as well as add leveling courses to correct dips.  After that work the road will be resurfaced.  We estimate the project to be completed in June.  The work will be done under pilot car and remain open to traffic.

L55 Resurfacing, Dobney Avenue in Mills County North to Highway 6
The project was let on March 24, 2017.  After the contract has been completed the work will be scheduled.  We anticipate the work to be completed this summer.  The work will be done under pilot car and remain open to traffic.

Boyer River Bridge, DeSoto Avenue
This project let on March 24, 2017 with an April 8, 2018 late start date.  The start date was established to be flexible to avoid fabrication delays with the steel girders.  The project will likely start in the winter off 2017/2018 and be completed in the spring of 2018.
