Sr. Programmer Analyst

Pottawattamie County is announcing a hiring process for the position of Sr. Programmer Analyst. This process will be conducted according to the following schedule and qualifications listed below.

Essential Job Duties:
The Sr. Programmer Analyst performs systems analysis and application development programming work in a responsible manner, on the creation and maintenance of database systems that are developed or purchased for departments throughout the County.

Minimum Qualifications:
Develops application programs using Microsoft .NET development software, programming in Microsoft C# language, non inclusive, under the supervision of Director of Information Technologies.  All programming code developed follows proper object-oriented principles and designs.  Must be able to work well under pressure.  Applicants must have knowledge of the Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office software suite.  Applicants must possess strong critical-thinking, problem solving skills and a logical mindset.

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science required.  Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of hire and maintain it throughout the course of employment.

Salary Range:
Starting salary range is $57,942 - $71,284 dependent upon education and experience.

 

 

 

 

 


Truck Driver II

Pottawattamie County (EOE) is taking applications for a Truck Driver II reporting to the Secondary Roads Shop at Honey Creek, IA.  Although this position will begin employment at Honey Creek Shop, the County reserves the right to reassign the employee to alternate shop locations.  The successful candidate must possess at the time of hire and maintain a Class B (CDL) with air brake endorsement.  Must be able to lift 50 to 100 pounds and be able to perform manual labor in a variety of outdoor and indoor environments and locations.  Applications will be taken at the Pottawattamie County Courthouse Annex, 2nd floor, 223 So. 6th Street, Co. Bluffs, through Friday, September 3, 2010 between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM.

 

 

 

 


Animal Control Supervisor

The Pottawattamie County Board of Supervisors is announcing a hiring process for the full-time position of Animal Control Supervisor.  The full-time work schedule may include evenings, weekends and holidays.  Pottawattamie County is an equal opportunity employer.

Essential Job Duties:
Under limited supervision, develops policies and procedures  and manages the activities of the Animal Control Program.  Enforces state and local laws regarding unlicensed, stray and uncontrolled animals.  Supervises employees of the Animal Control program.

Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of hire and maintain it throughout the course of employment. 

Must possess and maintain an Animal Control Certification from the National Animal Control Association throughout the course of employment.

Must possess and maintain Certifications in Chemical Capture and Humane Euthanasia throughout the course of employment. 

Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings including background investigation, medical physical including back screen and drug test.
